Chistye Prudy - top places

Updated: Dec 10, 2018

We love it here! Not as fancy as Patriarchy and not as many of our beloved delicacy shops but a very cosy area for a walk and a bite. Especially throughout Pokrovka Street. We were lucky, the sun followed us all day. And if you like good food too, we should be able to trust our French friends who did not choose this area to live in for nothing.

We have selected a few highlights:

Love the, sort of old fashioned, cosy interior but we were so lucky to be able to sit on the terrace. Absolutely fabulous! Lots of tasty stuff on the menu, an extensive winelist and for those who need it, free parking!

Location: Pokrovka Street, 26/1

Don Giulio - Italian delicacies

Just across the street from Beer&Brut. Go left for cheese, sausage, ham, olive oil and wine. Go right for an espresso combined with one of the sweet delicacies.

Location: Pokrovka Street, 27

Maroseyka central market

This new food market, with the same owners as our favourite Usachevsky market, is perfect for lunch! Stylish lunch places like Oishi sushi, Vietnamese Pho, Korean food and more. The interior varies on every floor, so check your preference from "industrial" to cozy.

Location: Maroseyka Ulitsa 4/2

This is a funky "shop in shop" restaurant, where you have something to every ones taste. The atmosphere is colorful&cozy and it feels a bit like a marketplace. Quality of the food is good! Perfect for lunch.

Location: Mjasnitskaya Ulitsa 15

This bright, colourful place is perfect for a cup of coffee or lunch. The food is nothing fancy, but tasty, and the atmosphere is vibrant. They even have a small play corner for the little ones. Cute outdoor and window seating.

Location: Pokrovka Ulitsa 6

We like our meats and fishes but this vegetarian café is a real treat. The atmosphere is vibrant and the food is delicious. If you like tea, Avocado has a wide range. They also have an outlet on Tverskaya 5/6.

Location: Chistoprudny Blvd, 12

Coffee Piu

This 'Кафе и салон красоты' offers a cozy mix of having a coffee and having your nails done. For lunch they offer a limited selection of daily specials. Inside as well as outside seating is nice!

Location: Chistoprudny Blvd, 9

Bulka Bakery

This very modern bakery is maybe not to everyone's taste, but you can also just drop in to bring high quality bread, baguettes, cakes or croissants home.

Location: Pokrovka Ulitsa, 19

19 Bar & Atmosphere

We love the interior👏👏and during our lunch the place was very lively. The food we chose was a bit disappointing but we have to say, this place definitely has Atmosphere!

Location: Chistoprudny Blvd, 19

Pizza 22 cm

It is all about Neapolitan pizza here! We ordered a burrata pizza for take away. Dough and topping were totally in our taste. A perfect place to have a quick lunch or order home.

Location: Solyanka, 1/2, entrance from Zabelina st.

Moremania - fish store&cafe

Very affordable & fresh fish store where you can buy minced salmon to make burgers, fresh tuna steak and all kinds of marinated fish. They also have a cute cafe where you can have lunch.

Location: Maroseyka Ulitsa

Pirat Marmelad - candy store

They carry 150! different candies, sold in weight. We have tasted together with a big candy lover from Sweden, who was impressed by the freshness and cleanliness of this place.

Location: Lubyanskiy proezd 27/1,

plus 2 other locations, Gruzinskiy Val 28/45 and Volhonka 6.

Palais Des Thés

We were very happy to run into this French tea store, which we first discovered in Paris. Staff was very knowledgeable, and service minded. The shop was very lively. Several teas were brewed and available for tasting.

Location: Pokrovka 4/1 and online shop.

Our favorite take away shop Кулинарная лавка братьев Караваевых

(Culinary shop Karavaevykh brothers) from Patriarchy has an outlet on Pokrova Street. We didn't buy anything this time but that had nothing to do with the quality. There was a huge line!!! Need we say more?

Definitely to be continued as far as we are concerned because there is much more to explore in this area! Will keep you posted.....
