New Art Exhibitions winter 2021

I have not seen any painting for almost an entire year! Except for the ones on my own walls. Deprivation of museum visiting was one of the toughest things for me in the past year. Now they are open again!

Here is the short list of the exhibitions - current and upcoming - arty Muscovites have in their wish list.

New Tretyakov Gallery presents a large-scale exhibition of Robert Falk. The artist was one of the leaders of the Russian Avant-garde, and an iconic figure in the artistic life of the Thaw period. The goal of the exhibition is to present the entire creative path of the artist, from the early impressionist works of 1905–1909 to the works of the 1950s. The exposition features more than 250 graphic and pictorial works.

The Museum of Russian Impressionism from the 1st of February invites to the exhibition of Sergei Vinogradov.

Sergei Vinogradov was creating canvases full of light and peace in the times of Russian revolution as if nothing could disturb the way of his family life in their country-side estate and in Crimea.

The Museum of Russian Impressionism is a modern Moscow museum which opened 2016 in a beautifully renovated former chocolate factory built 1880. The museum offers a nice permanent exhibition consisting of 70 works of art by well known Russian painters. The building's modern and pure atmosphere is an experience by itself.

The Museum of Moscow prepared a large-scale exhibition Vkhutemas 100. School of Avant-Garde, which features this institute as the protagonist of modern art, design, architecture, textiles, and graphics. This is the first exhibition of its kind to show production and fine art faculties reflecting the artistic experimentation of the Avant-garde era on such a scale.
