KGB walking tour - October 14th

LUBYANKA - DETSKIY MIR OBSERVATION DECK - DONSKOY MONESTERY

Together with the local company Strelka Travel, we developed a tour where you will understand the KGB regime better by walking trough the KGB office district, Lubyanka, and visiting the Donskoy monastery. Last years this tour was our most popular tour, thanks to our wonderful and knowledgeable guide Elena. The walk will take place on October 14th and start at 10.00 and end around 12.30. Please bring you Trojka card for the metro ride to the Donskoy Monestery. See the details of this tour below.

We need a minimum of 8 participants and we only have 10 spots, so please email to tips@moscowliving.org if you'd like to participate or if you have more questions.

We hope to see you on this tour!

Visit the places connected with Stalin’s terror – the time of great repression and fear. Learn about Gulag – one of the greatest evils of the 20th century. Step on Lubyanka Square to see a memorial to the victims of political repressions – Solovetsky Stone.

As we pass by the KGB building you will learn more about Soviet history from the October Revolution to today. Your guide will tell you about Stalin and Gorbachev, about the Cold War period, and the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Learn what it was like to live under the KGB’s watchful eye in Russia. Visit Donskoy Monastery and Cemetery where the victims of repressions were buried. You will acquire a much better understanding of today’s Russia as a product of its past.
